How We Review
Every DashLink guide follows the same process, whether it covers accounting software, a card reader or an ISA platform. This page sets out that process so you know exactly what a DashLink recommendation means.
How products are chosen
We shortlist products based on availability in the UK, genuine reader demand, and suitability for the small businesses, tradespeople and individuals we write for. A product does not need an affiliate programme to be included, and having one does not guarantee inclusion. Products that are not properly available or supported in the UK are excluded, and we say so when a well known name is missing for that reason.
Pricing, verified at source
Every price in a DashLink article is checked in GBP on the provider’s own website before publication. Where a provider only displays US dollar pricing to UK customers, we state that clearly rather than converting and guessing. Prices are correct on the date of publication and each article shows when it was last updated.
Research and testing
Our guidance draws on direct use of the products where possible, alongside provider documentation, plan comparisons, feature testing and patterns in genuine user feedback. We focus on the things marketing pages gloss over: real limits on free plans, costs that appear after sign up, contract terms and how well a product fits UK requirements such as VAT, CIS and HMRC compliance.
How rankings are decided
Rankings and top picks are decided on merit before any commercial consideration. There is no pay for placement on DashLink, and no provider sees an article before it is published. If our top pick happens to pay us nothing, it stays our top pick.
Affiliate links
Some articles contain affiliate links, disclosed at the top of the article where they appear. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This funds the site and does not influence what we recommend.
Keeping articles current
Software pricing and plans change often. We refresh articles when material changes happen, and each article displays its last updated date. If you spot something out of date, tell us via the contact page and we will check it at source and correct it.
Personal finance content
